Phuket setting up tourist service centres along the west coast beaches

Phuket’s Vice Governor, Sanit Srivihok, held a meeting yesterday (November 29) to discuss locations for the tourist service centres on each of Phuket’s main beaches.
The implementation of tourist service centres is a policy from Phuket’s Governor aiming to give information to travellers as well as providing support for any issues such as first aid in an accident or a contact location when people are lost.
The beaches that the meeting decided to build tourist service centres include Patong Beach, Kata Beach, Karon Beach, Kamala Beach and Surin Beach. Each centre will have autonomy to work on their own along with the cooperation of many government departments while the construction for each centre will be temporary to cover this year’s high season.
The meeting was attended by many Phuket stockholders including the Patong Mayor Chalermluck Kebsup, the Director of Tourism Authority of Thailand Phuket Office, Kanokkittika Kritwuttikorn, Karon Municipality officers, police and military officers.
