An ostrich ran into a busy street in Chon Buri, causing a traffic jam. Cars and motorbikes were backed up around a 1-kilometre down Suk Prayun Road. It took officers nearly 2 hours to catch the 2-metre tall bird. A rescue team chased the ostrich to a parking lot outside a Robinson shopping centre and was able to get a rope around the ostrich’s leg. They then lured the massive bird onto the bed of a pickup truck.

The ostrich had escaped from Phon Prachuap Farm, not too far from the busy street. Farmer Boonkong Leedokmai says the ostrich roams freely around the farm. He says someone may have left a gate open and then the bird escaped.

About a month ago, a water buffalo ran into the middle of a traffic intersection charging at cars and motorbikes stopped at a red light.
