Naked foreign man plunges to death from Pattaya condo
A naked foreign man fell to his death at a 22-floor condominium in Pattaya in the early hours of today. His identity and the cause of his death are still under investigation.
Officers from the Mueang Pattaya Police Station and rescuers from the Sawang Borriboon Dhammasatan Foundation investigated the death of the foreign man, who was estimated to be between 40 and 50 years old, after receiving a notification at around 3.40 am today, September 23.
The naked body of the foreign man was found beneath a Jeep in the condominium car park. Channel 7 reported that the man lay in a pool of blood but did not mention any signs of physical assault on his body.
Near the body was a damaged black sedan. Its windscreen was broken and the bonnet was dented. According to the security guard, the foreign man fell onto the sedan before landing under the Jeep.
The guard told the police that he heard a loud noise while he was talking with his colleagues. He initially thought an electric transformer exploded and rushed to check on it with other colleagues. They then found the damaged sedan and assumed the car’s battery exploded.
They realised it was not an explosion when they inspected the sedan more closely. They found blood stains and then discovered the body of the foreign man under the Jeep.
According to the report on Channel 7, the condominium staff could not identify the foreign man, nor did they know which room he was staying in.
Officers have not yet disclosed whether the incident was captured by CCTV cameras, so the cause of his death remains unclear. The body has been taken to the hospital for an autopsy. As there were no reports of wounds or assault, the case was suspected to be a suicide.
No personal documents were found with the deceased, so the police are waiting for his family members to come forward.
In a related report, the body of a Russian man was found near Karon Beach in Phuket at the beginning of this month. Two deep, cut wounds on his body led the police to suspect foul play.
Further investigation and a review of CCTV footage suggested that the foreign man might have committed suicide. However, the police have not yet confirmed this information or concluded the case.
