Foreigner causing disturbance on Sukhumvit Road arrested by Pattaya City police
An incident that caught the public’s attention unfolded on the bustling Sukhumvit Road, Bang Lamung, Chon Buri, at around 9.30pm on March 29. A foreign individual, whose identity was not disclosed, was reported to be under the influence of drugs and causing a disturbance among the locals. Upon receipt of the report, the Pattaya City police were promptly dispatched to the scene.
Upon their arrival, the officers found the foreign individual causing a commotion, his behaviour was indicative of drug intoxication. Locals nearby watched as the man displayed a fear of everyone in his vicinity, showing respect to the police through traditional wai greetings consistently. Despite efforts by the police to calm the man down, their attempts proved unsuccessful.
To ensure public safety and avert potential harm, the police decided to arrest the foreign individual. The police intervention was precipitated by reports from local eyewitnesses who detailed their accounts of the unfolding incident.
One local witness, who came upon a red motorbike lying overturned on a side Soi near Sukhumvit Road, reported seeing the foreigner in question. The man appeared to be under the influence of drugs and was throwing rocks at anyone who approached him. Alarmed by the man’s behaviour, the locals reported the incident to the police, urging them to contain the situation, reported The Pattaya News.
Following the arrest, the foreigner was taken to Pattaya City police station to prevent any further incidents. However, this is far from the end of the matter. The police are set to carry out a thorough investigation to establish the man’s identity and nationality, as they continue their efforts to maintain peace and order in the city.
In related news, a Russian man was apprehended at a hotel in Karon, Phuket, for causing a public disturbance and engaging in violent behaviour.
The incident, which occurred earlier this week, prompted Karon Police to issue a stern warning to all foreigners against unruly, alcohol-fuelled conduct.
