CCTV captures shocking transgender brawl in Pattaya
Tourists were left stunned as a brutal brawl between two transgender women erupted at a beer bar on Pattaya Central Road Sai 2, shattering the city’s reputation as a world-class family-friendly resort. Caught on CCTV and now viral on Thai social media, the violent altercation unfolded on February 15 at 10.30pm, right in front of passing tourists.
The shocking footage shows the two transgender women viciously pulling each other’s hair and trading blows before bystanders intervened. The incident sparked outrage online, with many questioning the safety and image of Pattaya’s bustling nightlife scene.
On February 22, reporters visited the beer bar to investigate the incident. They spoke with Teerawat, a transgender woman from Saraburi who works part-time at the bar and was one of the women involved. According to Teerawat, she was the victim of an unprovoked attack.
She recounted that on the night of the fight, she was playing pool with her foreign boyfriend when an ice cube mysteriously landed near her.
Looking around, she noticed Bella, a 24 year old transgender woman and former friend who had previously dated her boyfriend, sitting at a nearby bar. Tensions quickly escalated when Bella allegedly began taunting her.
Despite the provocations, Teerawat initially ignored Bella until she approached, twirling her hair before suddenly yanking it.
The two then erupted into a fierce fight, slapping and pulling each other’s hair until others stepped in to break it up, as shown on the CCTV footage.
Following the altercation, Teerawat filed a police report at Pattaya Police Station, alleging that Bella is affiliated with a notorious group of transgender women known for violence in the city.
She also claimed she received threatening phone calls from senior members of the group, warning her to “Watch your back.” As a result, Teerawat intends to file an additional report for harassment.
Reporters also visited a nearby bar where Bella was previously employed. Pae, a 28 year old bar manager, revealed that Bella was fired due to her inappropriate behaviour, which scared away customers.
Roddup, a 29 year old security guard, confirmed that he was called to break up the transgender brawl and later learned that Bella belonged to a group notorious for using violence against people they disliked.
The incident has sparked a backlash among local businesses, who are now urging the police to investigate the matter thoroughly to prevent similar occurrences in the future.
The fight has cast a shadow over Pattaya’s image as a family-friendly tourist destination, raising questions about safety and security in the city’s nightlife hotspots, reported The Pattaya News.
