In the video, the couple can be heard reacting to the incident.

Man: “Oh, what? What’s that? Is it falling on our car window?”
Woman: “Yes. What is it? Let’s pull over and check. Other cars might run over it.”

The video ends with an image of the thick electric wire lying on the road. In the comments, the woman explained that the wire fell onto their car, shattering the windscreen.

She further stated that she and her boyfriend were relieved the wire fell on their car and not on a motorcycle behind them, as it could have caused the motorcyclist to lose control, potentially leading to a crash or even a fatal accident involving multiple vehicles.

Channel 8 reported on the incident today, December 17, highlighting that the falling wire caused a large fracture in the windscreen. The couple revealed they were unsure how to seek compensation and decided to cover the repair costs themselves.

Many Thai netizens urged the couple to file a report with the local police or the Highway Police to identify the construction contractor responsible for the damage. However, the couple has not provided an update on whether they will pursue legal action.

Road accidents, ranging from minor to fatal, continue to occur frequently on Rama II Road. Incidents involving falling objects on this road are reported almost monthly, leaving motorists with little choice but to avoid the road or drive with heightened caution.

One of the most serious accidents on the road took place in late November, when a steel launching truss collapsed onto construction workers, killing six people. Nine others were hospitalised with injuries.

The debris from the collapse was only cleared recently, with the road at the site of the accident reopening on Saturday, December 14.
