A Thai man successfully saved a Filipina woman after theft and attempted rape near Huay Chak Nok Reservoir in the Bang Lamung district of Chon Buri province.

The 37 year old Thai man, Uthit, rescued a 37 year old Filipina woman on an isolated road near the Huay Chak Nok Reservoir in Chon Buri yesterday, April 2, at around 8.30am. He also filed a complaint to officers from the Huay Yai Police Station on behalf of the victim.

Uthit told Channel 7 that he went to the reservoir for fishing. While preparing the fishing tools, he heard someone scream and call for help. He looked for the source of the voice until he found the woman with blood all over her face.

Uthit stated that upon approaching her, he noticed a wound on her right waist and scratches across her body. Observing her trembling and evident distress, he decided to escort her away from the scene for first aid.

The Filipina woman disclosed to Uthit and police officers that while walking along Sukhumvit Road in Chon Buri, a Thai man on a motorcycle approached her, offering to escort her back to her hotel.

Accepting the man’s offer, the foreign woman travelled with him on the motorcycle. However, instead of taking her to her destination, the man diverted to an isolated area near the reservoir and forcibly took possession of her mobile phone.

The man physically assaulted her and attempted to rape her but the woman fought back. She took out a folding knife and stabbed him once, causing the suspect to escape from the scene.

According to the victim, this Thai man has about 165 height and dark skin. He was in a black T-shirt and shorts when committing the crime. His motorcycle was black but the victim could not recognise the brand.

Officers are now searching for the suspect and have not yet provided any updates to the media.

This case is similar to an attempted rape against a Chinese woman reported in February. The suspect volunteered to take the Chinese woman to Walking Street in Pattaya but took her to a remote area and attempted to rape her.

His attempt was unsuccessful and the woman managed to escape and report the case to the police, leading to his arrest a day later.
