Driver cheats death after flying object smashes through windscreen

A 43 year old man driving in Chon Buri has escaped with his life after a steel bar crashed through his car windscreen.

Motorist Tatsana Panon was knocked out unconscious after being struck in the head by a flying piece of steel approximately 50 centimetres before crashing his Nissan Navara on the Chon Buri bypass in Nong Maidang subdistrict of Muang district, east Thailand, on Tuesday.

The driver of the car behind Tatsana says a cargo truck, and pickup truck, were in front of the Navara and the pickup ran over the bar, causing it to fly up and smash through the Nissan’s windshield.

The witness pulled over to help the unconscious man and called for an ambulance to take Tatsana to hospital.

Police are looking at CCTV footage to determine the possible causes of the incident.
