Four houses on fire in Phuket Town
This morning (February 5), Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Office, Phuket Municipality received a report about a blaze in Soi Hub Aek, Phuket Town, that quickly spread to another three houses. The estimated value of the losses is at least 400,000 Baht.
At the scene, the 6 fire trucks couldn’t get into the street as it was too narrow. With the strong north-easterly winds, and the houses being constructed from wood, the fire spread quickly.
Firefighters walked in to the area with water pipes and took about an hour to extinguish the fires. The four houses have been almost completely reduced to ashes and many valuables inside have been destroyed as well.

A neighbor, Anong Rongmuang, said that the house where the fire started had no one inside and that it belongs to one of her relatives, as well as the other houses nearby. She heard people shout about the fire so she told her relatives to rush out of the houses but they didn’t have time to bring valuables or personal belongings with them.
Police have contacted the forensic police to check the houses for the cause of fire.
