New Banyan Tree Phuket hotel manager “at home’

PHUKET: Hery Kuswoyo has taken the helm as the hotel manager for Banyan Tree Phuket, the Banyan Tree group’s flagship property.

Mr Kuswoyo joined the Banyan Tree family in 2010 as the Food and Beverage Executive Assistant Manager for Banyan Tree Bangkok.

Prior to joining the Phuket team, he was the executive assistant manager for Banyan Tree Macau – the group’s first urban resort.

Mr Kuswoyo has extensive experience in various management roles at luxury hotels, including the Hyatt, JW Marriott, Four Seasons and The Ritz Carlton. However, the moving from place to place has taken its toll and he’s ready to call Phuket ‘home’.

“When we arrived in Phuket, it was like returning to Bali. There was the beautiful weather, white-sand beaches, landscape, food and especially the people!” Mr Kuswoyo said. “The respect, kindness and sincerity they have on a daily basis makes our job fun and easy. We simply don’t feel like strangers in Phuket! We’re home!”

Mr Kuswoyo also noted that the multicultural environment growing on the island, the mix of nationalities and ways of approaching the world, has been a ‘big eye opener’ for him and the entire family, bringing with it new sets of challenges and opportunities for growth.
