Free seminar in Phuket to focus on overseas investments for expats
PHUKET: A free investment seminar focusing on portfolio management for expats living off the interest produced through their ventures will be held on July 25 at Loch Palm Golf Club.
The seminar is being organized by one of the longest standing financial consultancies in Thailand, Montepelier (Thailand) Ltd.
Leading the seminar for Montepelier Wealth Management will be Ron Keyte, who has over 14 years of experience in financial consulting in the UK and is now working as a consultant for the firm.
Though the seminar will focus mostly on portfolio management, it will also examine effective transfers of UK pensions to QROPS (Qualifying Recognised Overseas Pension Scheme); tax free off-shore investments for expats; inheritance tax planning; tax planning; and investing for income and growth, Mr Keyte told the Phuket Gazette today.
“If there are retired people here paying taxes on investments in Europe and Australia, they could avoid those taxes through offshore investments,” Mr Keyte said, clearly targeting a portion of investors currently retired in Phuket.
Montelier has had a presence in Thailand for over sixteen years, from the merger of Montpelier Group and Expatriate Financial Services. The international brokerage has found an import niche market by specializing in the financial affairs of expatriates and international investors.
It is the largest privately owned financial intermediary in Asia and has over 19,000 clients globally, including many expat residents who are currently “non-domiciled”.
Those interested in reserving a seat at the event can contact Mr Keyte either by phone at 087-417 8715 or email: Rkeyte@montpeliergroup.com.
