Motorbike rider dies in crash after argument with another rider

A motorbike rider crashed into an electric pole on a sidewalk and died after arguing with another rider on a road in Bangkok.

Piyapong Suwarot got into an argument with a teenage motorbike rider, who accused the older man of cutting him off, on Pracha Uthit Road in the Tung Kru district of Bangkok. As a consequence, the 47 year old took his eye off the road and careered into a sidewalk pole.

The scene was witnessed by a motorist, Weerapat Kawisa. The 58 year old informed police he drove his car behind the riders and says both were arguing along the way. The driver added that Piyapong wasn’t wearing a helmet and suddenly hit the pole head-on.

Other witnesses nearby told officers the teenager accused Piyapong of cutting him off. And when the older man came off his bike the younger man didn’t offer any help. He allegedly looked at the dead rider and said, “You are old and stupid!” He then fled the scene.
