Foreign man crushed under Bangkok bus in apparent suicide
“The man was wearing a T-shirt and shorts and had no identification documents.”
A western man, at this stage unidentified, was hit and killed by a bus in Bangkok’s Phra Nakhon district. Police say it appears it was a suicide.
Police say the man was hit by the bus on Phra Sumen Road in front of Wat Borworniwet. The man was wearing a T-shirt and shorts and had no ID with him. He had 200 euros in cash in his pockets.
The bus conductor told police that the man spontaneously rushed out from the sidewalk and laid down in front of the bus. The bus couldn’t stop in time and the man was crushed under the left rear wheel.
The conductor claims the man just lay down about two metres in front of the bus. Witnesses have told police that the man earlier jumped in front of passing cars several times but the cars managed to stop before hitting him.
