Teen girl assaulted in Samut Prakan, legal action pursued

A distressing incident has unfolded in Samut Prakan province, where a 14 year old girl was reportedly assaulted by four male peers, aged between 13 and 15, after being left alone by a female friend she trusted. The friend and her boyfriend left the scene, claiming parental summons, leaving the girl vulnerable.
Upon discovering the ordeal, the girl’s mother confronted the female friend, who confirmed the incident. The mother then approached the homes of the four boys, seeking discussions with their guardians.
The boys allegedly confessed, and their parents offered compensation, suggesting a private settlement without police involvement.
However, the mother insisted on pursuing legal action. Attempts to communicate with the other parents resulted in evasive responses, questioning evidence like video proof.
This led to a police report filed on December 23 last year at Bang Bo Police Station, but progress stalled without a medical examination report. Only one of the boys showed willingness to compensate, while others remained indifferent, continuing school unaffected.
Meanwhile, the victim has been left distressed, avoiding school and missing exams for over a month.
The Foundation of Ton Aor has intervened, coordinating with Police Lieutenant Colonel Pramet Mahasirathanaroj, deputy superintendent at Bang Bo Police Station. They reported that a summons is underway, and a medical examination, although delayed, indicated evidence of assault.
Police are working to locate the boys for further legal proceedings, including the role of the female friend in the incident. All involved minors are expected to meet with police today, March 6, for a multidisciplinary interview.
Initial charges of sexual assault on a minor under 15 and assault using force are being considered, reported KhaoSod.
The Ministry of Social Development and Human Security is involved, focusing on the victim’s educational and psychological support.
