Man arrested after allegedly pulling a gun on a woman at the ATM

A man was arrested after he allegedly pulled a gun on a woman at an ATM outside a Chon Buri petrol station and demanded money. Police quickly arrived to the gas station on Sukhumvit Road and arrested 36 year old Tawat Jantawon who allegedly told police he had taken a small amount of crystal methamphetamine.

Police searched the man and found a handgun loaded with 6 bullets as well as 25 bullets and a small bag of crystal methamphetamine. Police say Tawat did not have a permit for the gun. Police charged him with carrying a firearm and ammunition in public without a permit, illegal possession of a firearm and ammunition without a permit, and illegally using and possessing illegal drugs.
