Adams and Hochul had previously participated in a security meeting via Zoom concerning the escalating violence in the Middle East. Hochul shared a photo of the meeting, showing her in an office while Adams and other officials appeared on screens.
Other notable New York Democrats present at the memorial included Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand, House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, and Attorney General Letitia James. Adams received applause from attendees during the ceremony.
