Flappy Bird making a comeback in 2025 with exciting new features
Make sure your phone has enough space because an incredibly addictive game is making a comeback.
In today’s gaming world, new games are released constantly. From free-to-play to live service titles and AAA releases, there’s no shortage of options.
Back in 2014, the scene was different. A decade ago, a simple yet captivating game took the world by storm and now it’s poised for a surprising return.
Yes, it’s Flappy Bird.
‘FLAPPY BIRD’ is officially returning.
A group named The Flappy Bird Foundation Group have acquired the official Flappy Bird trademark & rights for the original game.

The game’s simplicity is astonishing, considering no one had created a game quite like it before—or they did, but it never reached such heights of fame.
When it launched, almost everyone with a phone downloaded it to see how far they could get. Sharing high scores on Facebook was common back then when people shared everything on the platform.
The game’s premise was straightforward yet engaging: players controlled a bird named Faby, guiding it through pairs of pipes at varying heights.
Interestingly, the pipes were borrowed from classic Mario games, so it wasn’t backed by massive resources.
The game was the brainchild of Vietnamese developer Dong Nguyen.
Despite its skyrocketing popularity, Nguyen decided to remove the arcade-style game.
In February 2014, Nguyen announced on Twitter that he would delete Flappy Bird just nine months after its debut.
“Sorry Flappy Bird users, in 22 hours, I will take Flappy Bird down. I can’t take this anymore,” he tweeted.
For the fans who were disappointed, there’s good news: the game is reportedly returning in 2025, though without Nguyen’s involvement.
Reports suggest the game will launch by the end of October 2025 on multiple platforms, including web browsers, iOS, and Android.
A group called ‘The Flappy Bird Foundation’ is behind this revival. Described as a team of devoted fans, they aim to share the game with a global audience.
They have acquired the official Flappy Bird trademark from Gametech Holdings LLC and have ambitious plans, including new game modes, characters, progression, and massive multiplayer challenges.
