Phuket Property: Eight new projects approved

PHUKET: Construction of eight new property projects was approved at a meeting of a Phuket provincial committee on residential estate development last week.

The meeting, held at the Phuket Land Office, was chaired by Phuket Governor Tri Augkaradacha.

All of the eight projects considered by the committee were approved, namely:

1. Jomthong Thalang, by Jomthong Property Co Ltd

2. Promphun Paklok, by Baanpromphun Co Ltd

3. Pruksa Ville 45, by Pruksa Real Estate Plc

4. Poonsup (Songkhun), by Phuket Shinawatra Property Co Ltd

5. Chalongsuk, by Jarungklin Co Ltd

6. Rassada Home 2, by Phipop Phlaengjakjang and Torsak Wittayapichet

7. “Double” project by Pharanee Deejaroernkul

8. SK Home Saiyuan, by Phuket SK Home Co Ltd

Other requests considered by the committee included establishment of juristic entities to develop new housing projects, issuance of construction permits for public utilities, and changes to approved plans.

After the meeting, Gov Tri asked all developers to proceed with construction in strict accordance with the terms specified in permits.

For projects “with problems” or which had been taken over by new investors, he asked developers to follow recommendations made by the committee following site visits, in order to bring the work to completion.

Gov Tri commented that the new projects, which range in size, represent continued strength, investor confidence and strong demand in the Phuket real estate market.

However, he stressed that during construction, developers must minimize the impact on surrounding communities, such as by not allowing soil run-off to clog storm drains and cause flooding.

Construction of new residential estates, especially in heavily settled areas, was a recurring source of complaints received by Phuket Provincial Hall, he said.
