A 35 year old Chinese woman has become a hot topic in the online world after being arrested for defrauding three men of over 3.5 million baht in a complex marriage scam. Despite already having a family with considerable wealth and a real husband, the woman, known as Zhou, dated three men simultaneously, using her good looks to effortlessly win their hearts.

Cleverly evading official marriage registration, the Chinese woman claimed that she needed to maintain her single status to receive compensation from the government for a wrongfully demolished house. In reality, she was already married and had a daughter and planned to dupe more men in the marriage scam.

No one suspected anything, especially when she pretended to genuinely want to marry them and claimed that the wedding ceremony was a crucial part of her life. Her real motive was to receive gifts and money from the guests.

The Chinese woman went to great lengths to ensure the smooth running of the wedding ceremonies by hiring actors to play the role of friends and relatives during the festive period. For several years, she even paid people to visit her and her fake husbands to maintain her credibility.

The plan unravelled last year when she attempted to extract more money from one of the husbands Zhang by claiming she was pregnant with twins. She sent him a series of fake ultrasound images and even downloaded pictures of newborns from the Internet.

When the husband visited his supposed children and their grandmother, the elaborate scam began to unravel. She hired another actor to play the role of the delivering doctor, but when he failed to answer certain questions, the husband became suspicious. Upon investigating his wife’s background, he was shocked to discover that she was already married and immediately informed the police.

There is no clear reason why she chose this path, as her actual husband owns his own business, and their family is financially stable. One thing is certain, her ability to juggle four husbands for several years was facilitated by her real husband’s constant preoccupation and lack of attention towards his wife.

After hearing about his wife’s crimes, the real husband filed for divorce. The Chinese woman now faces at least ten years in prison for fraud. Investigations revealed that she swindled at least 660,000 yuan (3.2 million baht) from her three fake husbands in the elaborate marriage scam, reported KhaoSod.
