Motorbike rider dies in Phuket road accident

A motorbike rider has died after colliding with a pole in Paklok last night (September 19).

Thalang Police were notified about the accident in Soi Bang Ga in in Paklok at 8.35pm.

Rescue workers arrived at the scene to find the body of a man who was later identified as 30 year old Bancha Sangsawang from Nong Khai. His body was taken to the Thalang Hospital.

A Yamaha motorbike was found nearby, lying in the middle of the road. Blood and scratches were found on a pole in the central reservation.

A friend of the driver told police that Bancha had just purchased the motorbike and was just getting used to the new ride. He collided with a pole which was near a curve.

Police are checking CCTV footage nearby to continue on the investigation and assess the man’s speed at the time of the incident.
