Woman found murdered on beach
RAWAI: The body of Tada Sa-nguansuk, a 49-year-old motorbike taxi driver in Phuket City, was found on the beach near Wichit Bungalow late in the afternoon of June 28.
She had been raped and her throat had been slashed.
Pol Col Chalit Kaewyarat, Superintendent of Chalong Police Station, told the Gazette that staff at Wichit Bungalow made the gruesome discovery and reported it to the police.
“We believe she was murdered about three hours before her body was found,” Col Chalit said.
He explained that K. Tada had recently been released from Phuket Provincial Prison, and had started working as a motorbike taxi driver at a taxi stand in front of the prison.
Col Chalit added that her body was taken to Wachira Phuket Hospital, and that officers were waiting for the results of an autopsy.
“We believe she was raped by [at least one] Burmese worker working on a nearby rubber plantation,” he added.
