Wet, wet, wet

PHUKET: Residents hoping for some sun to dry out the laundry might have to wait longer, as the Meteorological Department (MET) has issued a warning that Phuket and the other five Andaman Coast provinces remain at risk of heavy rains and flooding for the next two to three days.

All ships should proceed with caution during this period, the weather warning said.

The MET, in an advisory issued at 4 am today, advised all people in areas at high-risk of flash-flooding to remain alert and be prepared to evacuate quickly if necessary.

The rain has been brought on by southwest monsoonal conditions, common at this time of year.
