Wachira renews appeal for Type A+ blood

PHUKET: Type A+ blood is still urgently needed at Wachira Hospital for a young man undergoing a series of operations after a horrific motorbike accident. Pillion rider Chanthit Suthitantayaporn, 22, was thrown from the bike when the driver braked violently for a red light. The rider received minor cuts on his head and chin, but Chanthit suffered severe head and liver injuries, resulting in heavy bleeding. He has undergone two emergency operations in 24 hours, but surgeons say more supplies of A+ blood are needed to keep him alive. Blood donations can be made between 8:30 am and 4:30 pm any day at the hospital’s blood bank. For further information on donations, call 211114.
