Video Report: Police get fright as 20kg python turns himself in

PHUKET: A 20-kilogram python gave police officers a fright at the Phuket City Police Station canteen on Wednesday morning.

“This time we got a call from a police officer, not a local resident as usual, to catch a python at the police station,” said Sakun Naepnean, a Kusoldharm Foundation rescue worker.

“The officer told us that he was going to get some food in the canteen and found the python near the sink.”

It took rescue workers only a few minutes to bag the three-meter-long snake.

The python was later released in the forest near Phuket Town.

“I would like everyone to be careful when it comes to snakes in Phuket, especially if you live in a house near a jungle area or unkempt properties,” Mr Sakun said.

“If you find a dangerous animal, just call us at 076-246 301. We are ready to assist you 24 hours a day.”
