Teen beauties bound for Phuket

PHUKET TOWN: The 30 finalists in the Miss Teen Thailand 2002 competition will be in Phuket from next Friday until October 23 preparing themselves for the contest. The girls will be staying at the Phuket Orchid Resort in Karon. On Saturday the group will be guests at a dinner party at the Karon Beach Resort, which will also be attended by Governor CEO Pongpayome Vasaputi; Dr Prasit Koysiripong, president of the Phuket Provincial Administration; Anuphap Theerarath, director of the Phuket Office of the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT); and members of the Phuket Chamber of Commerce. Next Monday, the girls will release 106 sea turtles into the sea in front of the Kata Beach Resort as part of a campaign to save the creatures. Later that day there will be a gala dinner to raise money for the Tao Thepkrasattri Tao Sri Soonthorn foundation. Tickets will cost 1,500 baht a plate. On October 23, The candidates will visit Provincial Hall before flying back to Bangkok. The contest will be held there two days later.
