Search Continues For Suspects
PHUKET TOWN: Police investigators are continuing their manhunt for two Thai male suspects wanted in connection with the October 27 shooting of Sea Canoe Thailand Day Trip Operation Manager Panwong Hirunchai. Phuket Provincial Police Commander Kongpol Suwannaraks told the Gazette yesterday that the suspected gunman and getaway motorbike driver, both Thai males, remain at large. Three teams of investigators have been assigned to the case, he said. The commander described the two suspects as “non-professionals,” and said authorities believe the pair are residents of another southern province. Pol Maj-Gen Kongpol would not disclose which province or provinces investigators believe the two men reside in, nor would he provide any additional details on the ongoing probe by his department. Khun Panwong, 39, continues to recover from his gunshot wounds. He was released from Bangkok Phuket Hospital on November 16.
