Sarasin Bridge closed

TAH CHAT CHAI: The Sarasin Bridge was closed at 6 am today and traffic is being diverted until tomorrow so that preparations can be made for the opening scene of a Thai romantic comedy to be filmed on the bridge.

Northbound traffic now joins the carriageway onto Thepkrasattri Bridge in front of the JW Marriott Phuket & Spa and continues using the same road up to the Tha Noon Mosque, about three kilometers north of the bridge.

Sarasin Bridge is set to be the opening scene of a Thai romantic comedy, Valentine, currently in production by the same producer of the popular dog comedy Ma Mah Si Kha Krub (Mid Road Gang).

Pol Lt Col Sakchai Limchareon, Deputy Superintendent of the Tah Chat Chai Police Station, this morning told the Gazette that traffic on and off the island has been flowing smoothly as there are many signs informing drivers of the redirected traffic flow.

Normal traffic flow on and off the island will resume tomorrow at 8 am.
