Road accidents kill 10 in one month
PHUKET: Ten people were killed in traffic accidents between July 20 and August 20, according to statistics from the Wachira, Thalang, and Patong government hospitals. Ampaipan Pawawattananusorn of the Phuket Provincial Health Office reported that two of the victims died in car accidents, while the remaining eight died in motorcycle crashes. In the same period, 44 people were injured in accidents in cars, while 802 were injured while riding motorbikes. In the same period last year, the figures were 49 and 742, respectively. Between January 1 and August 20 this year, 125 people were killed on motorcycles, and 10 in cars. A total of 6,859 people were injured. Of these, 6,493 were on motorbikes.
