Phuket Red Cross blood drive for July
PHUKET: Following a successful campaign in June, the Phuket Regional Blood Center has announced the dates for its July blood drive.
“By June 28, we had 2,124 blood donations for the month. This was above our target of 1,500-2,000 donors,” said Suphawan Rattanachan, an officer with the Phuket Red Cross.
“This month the need for blood won’t be as high but that should not stop donors from coming to our mobile clinic on the scheduled dates. The more donations we receive, the more good we can do,” she added.
The center is also holding a seminar for secondary school students and teachers at the Phuket Merlin Hotel from 8:30am to 4pm on July 19.
The event is intended to encourage people aged 17 and up to join the center’s network of donors who give blood every three months. People with negative blood types are especially encouraged to attend.
