PM to visit Phuket twice

PHUKET: Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra is scheduled to make two weekend-long visits to Phuket this month, first for a bilateral summit then for a Thai Rak Thai (TRT) party congress. The PM will make his first visit next weekend, from January 10-12, to meet Singapore’s Prime Minister Goh Chok Tong and his entourage of 30 to talk about mutual economic benefits. Thailand’s Finance Minister Somkid Jatusripitak and a party of about 100 will also be coming to Phuket. The prime ministers will meet on a yacht. The second weekend visit by PM Thaksin will come a fortnight later on January 24-26 for discussons on party strategy. More than 300 TRT MPs will join the PM at Phuket Arcadia Hotel and Resort.
