Man on the run after shooting boss in the head
PHUKET: Police are searching for a man suspected of shooting his employer in the head in Koh Kaew early this morning.
“We found Pisekpong Oonwan, 38, behind the Isuzu showroom in the area, bleeding profusely from a head wound. He had a .22mm bullet lodged inside his head,” confirmed Lt Col Naruebadin Pangleesen of Phuket City Police.
“He was taken to Vachira Phuket Hospital, where his condition is stable.”
Mr Pisekpong, who was conscious despite the horrific injury, named the shooter as Chaiya Jongpakdee – his girlfriend’s cousin.
“The two men were reportedly involved in an argument about Mr Chaiya’s absence from work and his repeated requests for money from Mr Pisekpong’s girlfriend,” Col Naruebadin added.
Mr Pisekpong told police that during the fight he grabbed onto Mr Chaiya’s bag. Police found Mr Chaiya’s hospital ID and twelve .22 bullets inside.
“We also found a hammer at the scene of the crime,” confirmed Col Naruebadin.
Police have yet to apprehend the suspect, who is on the run.
