Korean businesswoman found dead
WICHIT: A Korean woman found dead in her third-floor bedroom in the Tango Pub building on Chao Fah West Rd last Tuesday has been confirmed by police as the pub’s owner, Kim Chu Mi, 48.
Lt Col Vijak Tarom of Phuket City Police said that Mrs Kim may have been dead for more than eight hours before she was found by a relative who alerted police at 12:15 am on Tuesday.
“Many pills were found in the room with the body,” said Col Vijak, who did not say what type of pills they were or in what quantity.
“We also found the words ‘sorry to do this’ written in Korean in a notebook that her relatives were asked to translate,” he added.
“We suspect that Kim committed suicide by overdosing on the pills, although we are unsure of her motivation,” he said, adding that foul play has not been ruled out.
