Frenchman steals testosterone from Phuket pharmacy in his underpants

PHUKET: Phuket Police arrested two French nationals Wednesday night after one shoplifted 9,000 baht worth of testosterone injections in his underwear while the other created a diversion.

Patong Police were informed of the theft at the Health and Herb pharmacy on Soi Bangla at about 4:50pm and rushed to the scene.

“A man and a woman came into the shop,” said store owner Ratthaya Sawatraksa. “The woman came up to the counter to talk to me so that I wouldn’t notice what the man was doing.”

The man took three boxes of drugs, put them in his pants and walked out of the shop, but not undetected. Staff saw what happened and his act was also captured on the store’s CCTV.

Ms Ratthaya and her staff stopped the woman, 21-year-old Shirie Giordanengo, from leaving the shop until police arrived.

“We questioned Ms Giordanengo and went with her to her room, which was at the Sophita Hotel,” said Lt Col Sutthichai Thianpho of the Patong Police.

“We found Badis Hammoudi, 22, in the room along with three boxes of Testosterone Enanthate Injection 250mg, worth 9,000 baht.”

The suspects were charged with theft, but denied the charges, added Col Sutthichai.
