PHUKET: A group of waiters have turned themselves in to police today after a video of them brutally beating three restaurant patrons went viral on the popular ‘Youlike’ Facebook page.
Four staff members of the Baan See Khao restaurant in Phuket Town were filmed kicking and punching three men to the ground outside of the establishment on Sunday evening.
Police have declined to name anyone involved in the incident.
“The waiters told us that the fight started after one of the drunk patrons tried to kick one of their motorbikes over,” confirmed Wichit Police Superintendent Kittipong Klaikaew. “One of the victims is a Thai tour guide for a Chinese tour company.”
All four men were charged for assault.
The incident has now been brought to the attention of Phuket Governor Chamroen Tipayapongtada, who will consider whether or not the restaurant must be temporarily closed during the investigation.
Police this evening were unable to confirm to the Phuket Gazette if the suspects were still employed at the restaurant.
