Dates set for Vegetarian Festival
PHUKET: This year’s Phuket Vegetarian Festival is scheduled to take place from September 25 to October 5, with the Speaker of the Thai Parliament, Uthai Pimjaichon, presiding over events. Officials have issued a warning that last year’s crackdown on fireworks and illegal weapons will be repeated, along with checks on health standards and sanitation at roadside food stalls. Details of temple parades are to be announced closer to the festival.
