Australian Embassy to hold consular outreach in Phuket

PHUKET: The Consular Section of the Australian Embassy in Bangkok will visit Phuket on January 21 in order to offer consular, passport and notarial services to Australians in Phuket.

The outreach visit will be held from 9am to 3pm at the offices of Hawryluk Legal Advisors on the bypass road (map here).

During this visit, the consular staff will provide the following services:

  • Passport renewal applications – please ensure you bring all original documents and photocopies with you.
  • Notarial services
  • Statutory declarations for marriage, retirement visas and driving licence renewals
  • Witnessing documents

Fees are payable in cash only. Please contact the Consular section on 02-3446300 to arrange an interview and to confirm fees payable.

The authority to provide notarial and passports overseas is delegated to Australia-based Department of Foreign Affairs & Trade (DFAT) diplomatic and consular officers.

Australian Consulates headed by honorary consuls are not permitted to provide notarial services or conduct passport interviews.

The Consular Services Section of the embassy provides advice and assistance to Australian citizens in need in Thailand, performs notarial services (such as the witnessing of signatures and true copies of documents), and processes applications for Australian passports.

However, the Consular section does not accept or process applications for visas for entry to Australia, or applications for Australian citizenship. For these services, applicants need to contact the Embassy’s Immigration Section on 02-3446400 or email immigration.bangkok@dfat.gov.au.

To arrange an interview during the visit, contact the Consular section at the Embassy in Bangkok on 02-3446300; email consular.bangkok@dfat.gov.au; or visit the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade website ‘Smart Traveller’ (click here)
