Another student murdered in Phuket Town
PHUKET TOWN: Narongsak Korjanklang, 20, a student from Phuket Technical College, was gunned down on the street in the heart of Phuket Town at around midnight on Sunday (March 12). According to Orapin Tanrattanapitak, 19, who was Narongsak’s girlfriend, Narongsak was riding his motorcycle while she sat on the back. About 20 of their friends were riding alongside them on motorcycles. While they were in front of the Pink Chamois Cafe on Montri Rd in Phuket Town, a red passenger car pulled up next to them on the left side. A man in the car rolled down the window, pulled out a shotgun, and fired at Narongsak. The bullet went into his left rib cage and came out through his right side. Narongsak lost control of the motorbike and ran into a parked car. His friends rushed Narongsak to Wachira Phuket Hospital, but he was dead on arrival. None of Narongsak’s friends, including K. Orapin, could remember the face of the gunman or the make or license plate of the car. Pol Lt Col Paween Pongsirin of Phuket Town Police Station said the police would investigate whether Narongsak had argued with anyone prior to his death. The gunman is still at large. An almost identical murder occured three weeks ago (on February 22) when a 23-year-old Rajabhat student, riding a motorbike with his girlfriend on the back, was killed by a passing gunman in front of Muang Mai Motors on Thepkrasattri Rd in Phuket Town.
