Thai teen sexually assaulted by drug dealer at Chon Buri temple
A 17 year old Thai girl is seeking justice after being repeatedly sexually assaulted by a drug dealer at a temple in Chon Buri province.
Officers from Mueang Chon Buri Police Station were called to a restaurant in the Mueang district of Chon Buri province to question the teenage victim, named Dao. She claimed that the drug dealer named Noi repeatedly raped her, and she could no longer tolerate his actions.
Dao admitted that she previously used drugs and knew Noi because of her drug purchases. The teenager is now undergoing rehabilitation but Noi continued to contact her.
Dao told police that the drug dealer resided in the temple within the community and raped her behind the crematory. The latest incident took place on Wednesday, September 25. Noi threatened her by strangling her, so she could not resist him for fear of being killed.
Dao’s guardian, Ubonrat, who sells lottery tickets in the community, told police that she had just learned about the sexual assault and wanted to pursue the case to the fullest extent.
Police accompanied Dao to the police station to file a complaint against the drug dealer. Dao was also ordered to undergo a medical examination to provide evidence for the case.
Officers insisted that Noi would be punished by law even if he claimed that the girl had consented to the sexual activity.
According to Section 283 of the Criminal Law, the drug dealer may face imprisonment of up to five years, a fine of up to 100,000 baht, or both for taking away a minor aged under 18 years old for an indecent purpose.
In a related story reported in June, police arrested a 15 year old Thai girl and her boyfriend for allegedly tricking a 13 year old girl into having sex with a drug dealer for free drugs.
The suspicious girl denied the allegation, saying the victim had unruly behaviour and had agreed to the sex herself.
Another similar report was shared in the same month when a 22 year old Thai woman sought help from a non-profit organisation, saying her mother forced her to exchange sex for free methamphetamine with a drug dealer.
Her mother denied the accusation and claimed that her daughter’s mental illness led to the fabricated story.
