160 million baht luxury cars, watches seized from iCon Group TV host
Police confiscated the assets of 18 leading members of the iCon Group following fraud accusations, with over 160 million baht worth of seized assets belonging to TV host Kan Kantathavorn, including luxury cars and watches.
Following the investigation into the alleged fraud and Ponzi scheme involving the iCon Group, much attention is focused on the well-known television host Kan, who frequently showcased his luxurious lifestyle on social media. Kan often shared images of his special watches and cars on his Instagram account.
Additionally, his YouTube channel featured the lavish lifestyle of his wife, Iyada “Ploy” Kantathavorn. In one video, Ploy revealed to her followers that she turned on the air conditioning just for her designer bags every day.
Channel 7 reported that Kan withdrew 1.8 million baht from his account on October 15, just hours before the Anti-Money Laundering Office temporarily seized the assets of him and other leading members of the company for up to 90 days.
In the latest update on the case, the 18 arrested suspects are only the first group involved. Officers are expected to arrest more suspects as the investigation into the financial transactions continues.
ThaiRath reported that Kan, along with two other celebrities, Peechaya Wattanamontree and Yuranunt Pamornmontri, requested bail last night but were denied.
