Phuket Business: Amcham to host MICE tourism conference
PHUKET: The island’s growing MICE (meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions) market is a key segment which can help Phuket attract quality visitors. On March 14 the American Chamber of Commerce (AMCHAM) has organized a tourism event at Angsana Laguna Phuket focusing on how to sustainably grow MICE business along with the British Chamber of Commerce Thailand (BCCT) and the Australian-Thai Chamber of Commerce (AustCham).
A series of presentations from the Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (TCEB), Global Business Travel Association (GBTA) and the private sector will lead on into an open session during which the audience will be able to exchange ideas with the speakers and other tourism industry members in attendance.
Speakers at the event will include: Supawan Teerarat, Director – vice president strategic and business development, Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (TCEB); Welf Ebeling, vice president, APAC – Global Business Travel Association (GBTA); and Mark Simmons, vice president sales and marketing, Asia-Pacific – Outrigger Hotels and Resorts.
Shine PR’s Natasha Eldred will serve as moderator. The event is open to the public and presents a tremendous opportunity for those associated with hotels, tourism and the service industry to learn more about Phuket’s MICE sector and how this important segment can contribute to the island’s focus in generating quality visitors versus quantity.
Registration for the event begins at 4pm, presentations start at 4:30pm and at 6pm there will be networking drinks. Entry costs 100 baht.
