Thai celebs join Olympic Day Walk-Run fun at Pattaya Beach

A number of famous Thai celebrities have signed up to make an appearance at the Olympic Day Walk-Run of 2022 at Pattaya Beach in Chon Buri.

The final of the Olympic Day Walk-Run of 2022, which is scheduled to kick off at 6pm on Saturday, September 10, will be attended by Thai actors Phakin “Tono” Khamwilaisak, and Nuttanicha “Nicha” Dungwattanawanich, and features music and entertainment from a Last Idol Thailand girl group, and other artists.

The Olympic Committee of Thailand organised the event to be held on the sand for the first time to level up the competition and the walk-run distance has also been shortened from 5 kilometres to 2.8 kilometres.

Those interested in taking part need to register by August 20. Those who finish in the top 100, in the men’s 5 kilometres race, and women’s 5 kilometres race, will each receive a souvenir shirt. Competitors outside the top 100 will get a commemorative medal and e-certificate.

Several other exciting events are being lined up, such as beach and water sports, both included in the Summer Youth Olympics, and several prizes are up for grabs.

Central Pattaya Beach is to be transformed into a huge activity area and a Last Idol Thailand girl group, and other artists, will provide music and entertainment.

There is also an environmental awareness event led by Thai actors “Tono” and “Nicha” who will be leading a plogging activity – collecting rubbish while jogging – along the beach.
