Extension

You can extend your visa validity. Different visa types have different extension period. To extend your visa, you generally need to provide the same documents you handed in when you apply for the first time.

Overstaying

If you overstay, you will have to pay a fine of 500 THB and up to a maximum of 20,000 THB for each day after your visa expiration date. Consequently, if you can’t pay the fine, you will be detained.

Change of Visa

You can convert your visa type from inside Thailand. However, you must apply for a change in the type of visa at least 29 days before your current visa expires.

Re-entry Permit

This depends on the specific type of visa you have. However, if you want to leave Thailand but return to the country before your visa expires, you should be able to apply for a re-entry permit. This allows you to re-enter Thailand and use the remaining period on your visa.

Very good information, however, for normal tourists and people who want to work in Thailand, these visas might not be the right product for you. Personally, I have inquired about a Non-Immigrant Visa R, as I will be spending most of my time in Thailand for retreat purposes.

Types of Other Visa We Offer

This type of visa is for those who want to carry out missionary work or other religious activities. Additionally, the visa is valid for 3 months with a single entry for Non-immigrant visa R or, alternatively, with multiple entries valid for 1 year for Non-immigrant visa R-A.

Furthermore, it is at the discretion of the Immigration Officer to prolong the stay. Therefore, applicants who wish to remain longer than 90 days in the Kingdom must file their application either at the Thai Consular Mission on board or at the Immigration Bureau Office.

Applicants who wish to access the Kingdom for scientific study, studying, or teaching at a research institute can apply for this visa.

There is a three-month validity period for single-entry and multiple-entry visas. Additionally, multiple-entry visas could also be valid for one year. Initially, holders of this type of visa are given a period of stay not exceeding 90 days in the Kingdom, unless otherwise notified by the Immigration Office. Moreover, those eligible persons can obtain an additional one-year stay permit from the date of entry into the Kingdom in accordance with the rules on the extension of stay of the Office of the Immigration Bureau.

A visitor’s visa is between valid for between 1 and 6 months, but visa validation lengths vary.
