Phuket Pads: Luxury villa shortage in south

PHUKET: The south of the island is facing a shortage of new upmarket villa developments. There are two main reasons for this: higher land and material costs, and more buyer demand for two-bedroom to three-bedroom villas on smaller plot sizes.

However, a home is up for grabs in one of the first upmarket luxury villa developments in the south, Rawai Villas. The development still remains one of the best on the island after the outstanding Baan Bua development, which also continues to grow.

Rawai is very popular among those in Phuket’s expat community and has an abundance of restaurants, shops, boat charters and bakeries. Rawai is also very close to the famous Nai Harn Beach, just voted as one of the top five beaches in Asia by Trip Advisor.

The large, spacious four-bedroom home in Rawai Villas offers 450 square meters of interior space spread over two storeys, and sits on a full rai of land just off the southern end on Rawai’s beachfront road. It is in an exclusive, secure estate and could offer sea views with some tree trimming – the current owner prefers the absolute privacy of this ideal location.
