Man found murdered in Pa Khlok

PA KHLOK: A Thai man was found battered and dead this morning on the shore near Bangpae Seafood restaurant.

Pol Maj Chamroon Plaiduang, inspector of Thalang Police Station, told the Gazette that the discovery of the body by local people was reported at about 8 am. An ID card found on the corpse identified him as Prasit Laowongsa, aged 27, from Moo 2, Tambon Pa Khlok.

“We believe the victim was involved in a fight,” Maj Chamroon said. “There was blood around his nose, possibly indicating he was hit with a blunt object, and there were scrapes and bruises all over him. It looks as though his attackers dumped him after assaulting him.

“We are not yet sure of the cause of death. He may have been alive but unconscious when he was dumped, and then drowned,” Maj Chamroon added. “So far we have been unable to make any arrests.”

The body has been sent to Thalang Hospital to await an autopsy.
