A warning has been issued to fans of barbeque and tabletop grilled pork to limit their consumption to no more than once a month. Additionally, they are advised to always consume organic vegetables.

This caution comes from Associate Professor Dr Surat Tanprawate, a neurologist, who posted the warning on his page, Brain with Dr Surat, on November 10. According to the doctor, overconsumption of these popular foods may lead to severe diseases such as colon cancer, which could result in a colostomy bag.

Dr Surat’s post highlighted the increased risk of colon cancer for those who frequently consume barbeque and tabletop grilled pork, urging the public to consume these foods sparingly, and no more than once a month. He also emphasised the importance of eating organic vegetables regularly.

The post attracted numerous comments, with some users sharing their experiences of encountering patients with the said disease. They described the immense suffering that comes with treating and battling this severe illness. This warning to barbeque and tabletop grilled pork lovers about the risks of developing colon cancer, thus, serves as a grave reminder of the potential health implications of our dietary choices, reported KhaoSod.

“Barbeque and tabletop grilled pork lovers, please beware. Eat sparingly, no more than once a month. Always eat organic vegetables too. #BewareOfColonCancer, it results in a colostomy bag.”

This statement underlines the importance of moderation and a balanced diet, shedding light on the potential health hazards associated with the overconsumption of certain foods.

Gravity of colon cancer

The flood of comments on the post revealed the widespread impact of the disease, with many sharing personal anecdotes of individuals battling the disease. These stories of suffering and struggle against this severe illness further reinforce Dr Surat’s warning about the risks associated with regular consumption of barbeque and tabletop grilled pork.

Despite the popularity of these foods, it is crucial to consider the potential health risks they pose. As Dr Surat’s post suggests, moderation in consumption and a balanced diet, including organic vegetables, can play a significant role in preventing diseases such as colon cancer. This is a serious health concern that requires more attention, and it is hoped that this warning will encourage individuals to make healthier food choices.
