Mass shootings in the US this year up to 70 (video)
The total number of killings in mass shootings in the United States this year is 70 and the month of January still has a week to go.
California is currently wrestling with the aftermath of two consecutive mass shootings, the latest shooting saw a man kill seven ex-colleagues in Half Moon Bay, a coastal city south of San Francisco. The victims were all Chinese-American farm workers.
The suspect, 67 year old Zhao Chunli, was apprehended after he drove to a police station.
The state is still mourning the deaths of 11 people in Monterey Park, six hours southeast of Half Moon Bay, in a shooting that took place during Lunar New Year celebrations.”
The senseless killings at Half Moon Bay mean there have been 70 deaths in the US caused by mass shootings this year, as reported by the Gun Violence Archive.
This comes amidst ongoing debate about the country’s lenient gun laws.
According to the Gun Violence Archive, mass shootings involve the shooting of four or more people, not including the attacker, in a single incident.
