A restaurant delivery owner in Vietnam received an unusual request from a male customer, seeking a secretive way to enjoy a beer without his wife‘s knowledge. The owner devised a clever plan and shared the amusing story on social media.

With soaring temperatures, it is natural for one to crave a cold beverage. However, when a husband wished to quench his thirst with a cold beer and avoid a scolding from a disapproving wife who deemed alcohol detrimental to health and potentially addictive, it became necessary to think of discreet ways to satisfy his desires.

The Vietnamese husband found himself in such a situation when ordering restaurant delivery, and appended his unique request on the receipt. It said…

“Can you buy a beer for me? My wife doesn’t allow drinking at home. So, please help me ‘disguise’ the beer so I won’t get caught!”

The empathetic restaurant owner decided to help the customer by concealing the beer in a rather creative manner. The owner poured the beer into a plastic container usually used for liquid foods. Then, they sprinkled onions on top and waited for the beer foam to dissipate before closing the lid. A message was written on the side of the container: “Free Soup.”

The restaurant owner posted this tale on social media, playfully wishing the customer…

“Enjoy your delicious soup.”

Online users shared various reactions to this story, such as:

“Will he have to eat the onions too? I’m afraid he’ll have a stomach ache!”

“Such a challenging request, but this restaurant owner did it. I’m impressed!”

“A customer facing a tough time and a caring owner – he will definitely come back to this place the next time!”
