Unidentified body found with knife lodged in head at Phuket pier
PHUKET: A body was found floating at Rassada Pier yesterday with a knife lodged in the skull and a stab wound in the back.
Rescue workers recovered the body from the water, in front of the Fish Marketing Organization, at about 1:45pm.
Rescue workers and police found a kitchen knife tucked into the waistband of the unidentified man’s pants. A mobile phone and 100 baht cash were also recovered.
“We believe that he was a Myanmar worker, and that he died more than ten days ago,” Maj Rachan Punwai of Phuket City Police told the Phuket Gazette.
“At this point, we are focusing on identifying the body. Once we do that, we will find out who his family and friends are, as well as who he worked with, so that we can start investigating what happened.”
