Princess to visit tsunami survivors

PHUKET CITY: HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn is due to tour Phuket, Ranong and Phang Nga on May 12 and 13 to visit victims of the tsunami.

The Princess is scheduled to be in Phuket on May 13, when she will visit Baan Bang Rong in Thalang to donate fishing boats, kitchen equipment and scarves and caps to Muslim residents.

HRH is due to start her tour in Ranong Province on May 12, arriving in Suksamran District around 9 am to see how local people are raising goats and catching crab and sea bass before donating seven fishing boats, cooking equipment and money for scholarships to tsunami survivors.

From there, the Princess will go to Kuraburi, Phang Nga Province, where she will donate agricultural equipment, construction materials, water tanks and cooking equipment to residents.

Before coming to Phuket on May 13, Princess Sirindhorn will also visit Koh Yao, Phang Nga, where she will to donate construction equipment and watch people being trained in batik making.

She is due to leave from Phuket International Airport at 3pm the same day.
