Lighthouse Market back with big new package of goodies at Boat Lagoon

PHUKET: They’re going to do it again this weekend – on the docks, in the water, and in the air. The Lighthouse Market is back with a raft of new delights and great entertainment at Phuket’s hippest family fun spot, the Phuket Boat Lagoon.

Back by popular demand, the Market returns tomorrow and again on Sunday, offering two more vibrant evenings along Phuket’s liveliest boardwalk.

It promises to be even bigger and better than the launch event last month, with a variety of exciting new stalls on the bustling dockside walking street, including a Champagne bar, a seafood bar, sweet treats and more organic delights.

Trip Radio FM 89.75 will be on board and the Gazette Air Force will be back with even more aircraft for an attack at 5:50pm sharp.

Uber has also joined as a sponsor and is offering a 400-baht discount on rides to the Boat Lagoon for this event. Check for details in the Phuket blog of the Uber website (click here).

“We had such good feedback from stall holders and visitors after the first Lighthouse Market that we are now committed to holding these events over the last weekend of every month through May, when we may take a break for the rainy season,” says organizer Kanittha Prasopsirikul of By Kanittha Co Ltd.

“The market is a great place to meet with friends and relax at one of the trendy dockside bars, or even aboard one of the luxury yachts, with live music in the background. It’s also a fun evening out for all the family, so we’ve made a few improvements to make it even more kid-friendly this weekend,” she says.

“There is now a designated Kids Zone with more supervised activities, including an outdoor theater. The lighthouse will be open as usual and the boardwalk has been widened,” she adds.

As a special bonus for those visiting this weekend’s Market, there will be a Lucky Draw next week, with the winners’ names to be announced in the Gazette Online and Facebook pages on Friday, February 27. Prizes include resort vouchers and dinner vouchers at some of Phuket’s finest establishments, as well as a free scenic flight over the island aboard the Gazette‘s aircraft ‘News Dog’.

The Boat Lagoon Lighthouse Market schedule is now as follows: February 21-22; March 28-29; April 25-26; and May 30-31, with the events for June onward to be confirmed.
